WHAT IF:
Obama/Biden vs McCain/Palin--what if things were switched
around?... Think about it.
Would the country's collective point of view be different? Could
racism be the culprit?
Ponder the following:
What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage,
including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage
daughter?
What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law
Review? What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of
his graduating class?
Whatif McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcé?
What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a
severe disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to
his standards?
What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair
while he was still married?
What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to
pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable
organization?
What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five?
(The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of
corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the
larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)
What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?
What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?
What if Obama was the one who had military& nbsp;experience that included
discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?
What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many
occasions, a serious anger management problem?
What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer
distribution?
What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?
You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected
reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close
as they are?
This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes
positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities
in another when there is a color difference.

Objective Morality or GOD Morality

Well lets start off with the definition of Moral which is the capability of distinguishing between right or wrong. Since we are all philosophers now, the first question that should be ask is, How do we know what is right or wrong. I would answer, right and wrong is intuitive, which therefore needs no evidence. But how come God gave us the TEN COMMANDMENTS, if we need two block of stone to tells whats moral, then my statement before is a contradiction. It seems to me that we are all programed to the TEN COMMANDMENTS, basically we judge morality on the principles of moral law presented by God, so to therefore state any conviction of wrongness or rightness, is to to presupposed the belief of God, or any religion that support these same principles. So, before Moses came down from the mountain, did we have any sense of what was right or wrong? No, that doesn't make any sense, because we were kick out of the garden, because we had a conceptual thought of evil or something like that. So where did we need God to gives moral advice if it was inherent of us after the age of Garden of Eden. So what I'm basically saying is it religiously incorrect to say we all have the same idea of morality because of our intuitive process. But why would religion need to give us moral laws if morality wasn't self-evident. HMMM, what if this was a part some kind of master plan to give religion a boost in the human hierarchy, or maybe I'm becoming a skeptic or even worse an atheist. LOL, Just joking I have strong belief in God, I just need some answers.

Time is Subjective
Is time subjective to our perception? For example when people say time flies when your having fun. How is it that we perceive time to be slower or faster when we are in the act of something or just being bored. How do we know if time is actually measured the we see it. WE DONT, and thats just mind boggling. We all agree on time as a factor of induction, so even with our reality being doubted we are also left time being a unknown truth. Overall time is a conceptual and have no relevance to our physical realm.

Communism, Socialism, and Capitalism

I was wondering what the class thinks about the different political systems in the world and what they think about how the government affects the individual and community. Why do some many of us look at communism or socialism with a evil eye. Is it because we have seen dreadful results or outcomes when countries were empowered by communistic or socialistic principles. But what about ourselves, the all mighty "free market" or capitalism. We have had our downfalls too. But the question I would like ask the class is which political system would ethically be more progressive. As for me I believe that a more Socialistic society and political system would benefit our society even more. For example there already some of the principles that are implemented in America, for example, hospitals, police, welfare, Social Security, etc are all services that are all provided to us from the government. But as you can see some of these simple services that are to help benefit us are being privatized by CEO's and the capitalistic powerhouse.
